child of the 80/90's

Like any child with foreign parents, having junk food...no. excuse me. american junk food in the house was not tolerated. at home, snack time consisted of me and my brothers gnawing on large peeled orange carrots, sliced tomatoes with sugar or entertaining ourselves by seeing how many green grapes we could fit in our mouths at once. so, when we were old enough to have lunchtime at school, a whole new world of snacks were introduced to our sheltered palates. i realize that half of these snacks are only tasty before the age of ten, but still, its fun to reminisce.

i had breakfast...

after church today...does that still count as breakfast? it was my first meal of the day...and i ate it in bed...but it was 1:30 pm. oh, who cares. get ready..mmm!

oh. and i highly recommend eating more of your meals in bed-with the window open-while listening to this. it makes for a highly enjoyable breakfastafternoonmeal!

ice cream makes me sick. i think the combination of the milk and cream and sugar are just too much for my system. still...it sure is tasty--ESPECIALLY on beautiful days like today while sitting on your front porch. theyre soulmates those two...

Earth Day

is tomorrow and if youre looking for something to do, this is pretty cool.
its local, youre helping the environment, you might just make a new friend, its going to be beauuuuuuutiful out tomorrow and most importantly, there will be FREE FOOD. HERE is more information about it for anyone who is curious. maybe ill see you there?

starbucks

working two jobs and going to school full time is great. seriously, i wouldnt change it for the world. im constantly busy, and sometimes it can be stressful--REALLY stressful (lack of sleep is a bitch) but, i really enjoy having my days full of things i have to get done. i hate feeling like im sitting around doing nothing with my life (although sometimes, days devoted to sitting around are great), and being busy helps me to feel like im working toward something. who knows what that is quite yet...but who cares? im blessed with good health, friends and family i love, a home to live in, transportation, a workplace and school--so why not take advantage of that? ill sit around when im old and my knees dont work. on that note, today at workplace #1 (i.e. coffee is consuming my life thanks to starbucks) after a slew of rude customers, (if you are mean to the people that serve you your coffee, please explain to me why that is necessary?), we began experimenting with writing messages in coffee...it needs some work, but im pretty proud.

real quick. i only had one meal yesterday (tragic, i know). luckily, one of the best sandwich places in town is less than a block down the street from my house-AND they now have a new menu! which means for you vegetarian folks (like me) there is a million and a half different treats to now choose from...probably more like 12, but still. and for you meat eating folks there is even MORE to choose from. so, if any of you are ever on west third and drive by a place called Cafe Corner, i would suggest stopping in trying one of their amazing sandwiches. it may just change your life? or at least the sandwich eating part of your life.
